Why we started HeatLine
I'm David Schmitd. I grew up between Los Angeles and Guadalajara — bilingual English and Spanish since I was six — and I've spent most of my adult life inside the private-events world in Southern California. HeatLine VIP started in the summer of 2022 because I kept seeing the same broken pattern repeat itself: a maid of honor would book "a male stripper" through a random Instagram DM or a sketchy Craigslist ad, hand over a deposit, and then spend the next 48 hours before the party genuinely worried about whether anyone would show up at all.
Sometimes the performer showed up drunk. Sometimes the person in the photo wasn't the person at the door. Sometimes nobody came and the deposit vanished. I met dozens of women who told me the same story from the bride's side — the moment of "is this actually happening?" as the clock ticked past the arrival time, texts unanswered, the group awkwardly pretending it was fine.
That was the gap. Not more entertainers, not louder marketing — a booking agency you could actually trust. One that answered the phone, sent a written confirmation, background-checked its performers, showed up on time, and treated the maid of honor like the client she is instead of a mark. I started HeatLine with two performers I already knew personally, a spreadsheet, and a phone number that I answered myself every time it rang.
Three and a half years later we've delivered more than 500 private shows across LA, Orange County, San Diego, Palm Springs, Ventura, and Las Vegas, and I still answer the phone myself when I can. The people who book HeatLine aren't buying a stripper — they're buying certainty. That's the whole business.
The LA years — 2022 to 2024
The first two years were pure Los Angeles. Weekends in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu villas, Airbnb bachelorettes in Silver Lake and the Hollywood Hills, hotel suites at the Standard and the London. I learned the market from the inside — which neighborhoods work for a private show, which hotels quietly allow it and which will send security within ten minutes, how to stage an entrance in a house with an open floor plan versus a suite with a single hallway.
By the end of 2023 we had a stable of eight vetted performers, a 4.9-star average across 200+ verified reviews, and a repeat-referral rate high enough that most Fridays and Saturdays booked out three weeks in advance. That's when the calls from Las Vegas started stacking up.
Expanding to Las Vegas — 2024
We opened our Las Vegas operation in the spring of 2024. Vegas is a different animal than LA — the venues are hotel-dense, the client mix skews more toward destination bachelorettes flown in from twenty different states, and the logistics of a discreet arrival at Bellagio or Cosmopolitan look nothing like a Malibu villa entrance. It took us six months of running Vegas as an "LA agency that also serves Vegas" before I realized we needed a full local team, a local dispatcher, and a Vegas-specific performer roster that lived and worked on the Strip.
Today the Las Vegas side of HeatLine is a self-contained operation with four full-time performers, a lead dispatcher, and an on-call bench for weekend surges. We handle Strip properties (Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Aria, Wynn, Venetian, Caesars, Waldorf), off-Strip resorts (Palms, Virgin, Rio), Downtown, Henderson, Summerlin, and the growing Airbnb corridor near Chinatown and the Arts District.
The team today
HeatLine now runs with twelve vetted performers across both markets — eight primary in Los Angeles, four primary in Las Vegas — plus a dispatch team of three. Every performer goes through the same three-step vetting before their first HeatLine booking:
- Background check — full county and federal criminal background check through a licensed service. No exceptions, ever.
- In-person audition — I personally meet every performer before they're added to the roster. If I wouldn't be comfortable sending them to my own sister's bachelorette, they don't get booked.
- Trial shift — first three bookings are shadowed or immediately debriefed. Client feedback determines whether they stay on the roster.
The result is a small, consistent team you can request by name, not a rotating pool of subcontractors you meet for the first time when the doorbell rings.
Our commitment — English
Every HeatLine booking comes with the same commitments in writing:
- Bilingual service. Every dispatcher on our team is fully bilingual English/Spanish. Books, contracts, and support texts happen in whichever language you prefer.
- Background-checked performers. No exceptions. If you want to see the vetting policy in writing, we'll send it.
- Discreet arrivals. Plain-clothes performers, unmarked vehicles, no signage, no branded uniforms in public. Nobody in your neighborhood or hotel hallway will know why we're there.
- Professional entertainment only. Choreographed themed performances — fireman, cowboy, police officer, doctor, military, construction, custom themes. No explicit content, no escort services. Anyone conflating those two categories is welcome to read the FAQ and reconsider.
- Emailed confirmation before we take a deposit. Performer name, arrival window, package details, and a written price. If we won't put it in writing, don't book it — and that goes for any agency in this industry.
